Grow Your Instagram and Understand Your Insights
Instagram is a great place for people to promote their work, grow a following, and draw people to their online portfolio or store. Yet, to completely benefit from Instagram, you have to figure out how to utilize Instagram insights. Data as, the quantity of profile and Instagram stories views, likes, and follows you get will help you understand your audience and how your posts perform. To help you in understanding better I created a Instagram Planner where you have a checklist of things to do before posting and things to take into account after posting Instagram has some built-in analytics tools that are good for getting started but I totally prefer the manual way for my day to day insights. To help you tell which posts generated the most engagement over the course of a month I will show you a couple of my own numbers. At the end of the month, I will go back and check which were my top 5 performing posts. What was I talking about in those posts, what was the subject of the photo and of course if it is a giveaway which is well know to be one of the posts with higher engagement because most of the times on the rules it is asked to comments and tag other people. Here are 4 of my top posts, I don't include the giveaways for the reasons listed above but because I know they work I will be sorting another giveaway this month By looking at the numbers you can see what is it that people have.. -Send the most so it means it is shareable content, this type of content will bring you new people without you having to pay for exposure of having to relay on hashtags. -Saved the most, it besides showing you that the content you are creating is valuable for people to save it and see it in the future help the Instagram's algorithm to know it is valuable content and needs to be shared with more people. BMW Cruise in San Diego
And we finally did it!. Ever since we moved to California, Gabriel has been searching for a group of people with the same brand car as his. And as it is in Miami, people that love cars usually have a monthly drive where they get together to show off their cars and just talk with people that have the same interest than you and then just take a drive. For now Gabriel just found a group South of where we live. And because we were going to spend the weekend in San Diego we decided to save our Sunday to complete this drive. This time there was a group o 180 cars doing a drive of 3 hours, kind of, and there was only one stop. Here are a couple of photos of the cars we saw and there is also a vlog of the day. Here are some amazing hotels we looked at for our stay there - ¡Y finalmente lo hicimos!
Amazing things to do in: Joshua Tree National Park
Joshua Tree National Park is frequented by SoCal residents, aka me, because how close it is to Los Angeles. It is actually one of the must see places for many people living in South California. The Park - Location Joshua Tree National Park is located near Palm Springs. It is 790,636 acres, which makes it smaller than Yosemite or Death Valley, but out of all the acres, the park includes 429,690 acres of designated wilderness. When going into the park you can see it includes parts of two deserts, each an ecosystem whose characteristics are determined primarily by elevation Without stopping it would take about 1.5 hours to drive through Joshua Tree National Part. But that’s would not be as fun as stopping and doing at least the short hikes and shoot a couple photos. Things to know - Before going to the park Check their website 'https://www.nps.gov/jotr/' before going for any alerts in effect There is not service in the park, only in specific places and for a short period of time. Download the map beforehand or use the one given in the entrance, which like old school is a printed one The entrance fee is $30 per car, and it the entrance ticket works for 7 days. One thing we noticed is that after 5 pm, there is no one to check the pass or to charge for new cars. If you plan on visiting at least 3 National Parks in a year then you might want to consider the America The Beautiful Annual Park Pass for $80 There are no restaurants or grocery stores inside Joshua Tree National Park, but nearby communities provide these services. Bring your water and food to the park because the store that the closest to the park is about 10 - 15 min away from the entrance of the park. If you’re trying to get a campground at peak season, plan ahead. Most weekends will be full. Try to arrive between 9 am and noon when people are leaving. Pets are only allowed at campgrounds, picnic areas, and paved and unpaved roads. They are not allowed on trails and must always be on a leash. Hikes and View Points you CAN'T MISS Hidden Valley Natural Tree. Don’t forget your water. Cholla Cactus Garden at sunrise, A 0.25-mile loop where you can view a concentrated area of cholla cactus. Arch Rock Trail before sunset, A 0.5-mile nature trail with lots of large rock formations to climb on and a natural arch. Keys View to get a beautiful panoramic view of the park, it is high elevation lookout point on the crest of the Little San Bernardino Mountains that you drive up to. You can see Palm Springs and Coachella from here. Indian Cove - Huge rocks right by the car, no need to hike a lot. This is were our last photos were taken. Split Rock Loop/Face Rock Hike - Such a nature magic, it does look like a face Want more travel tips for Joshua Tree ? Read my post – Check my youtube video .
After everything that has happened in the world, I have found that taking pictures and editing them is a great way of using my time. Besides painting and watching tv shows. I am in California now and for that reason I don't have my camera, lights or tripod with me so a white sheet and creativity are my best friends. I am so use to edit with Lightroom that I just wanted to be a little more creative and that's when I started using Over. This apps lets you add all kind of stickers on top of you image, so if you were looking for a sign to get creative, this is it.

Willow Spring Racetrack - Racing in South California
As you may know, I don't like cars but... Ever since I was born I was surrounded by them. My dad opened his shop before I was born and since I was a child I was in his shop, as my mom worked there too. I grew up surrounded by so many cars, and at the beginning, when my dad was just starting we did not have much money and he would buy old cars that were destroyed after an accident and repair them to for use or to sell them and make some money. I even recall one we called 'The flying carpet' just like the one from Aladdin because inside the car there was only the drives seat and everything else was carpet. But beside having fun naming cars and experiencing new cars almost every month, by new I mean old ones that he fixed and sell. I just did not care about cars. So who would say I would end up with a guy so obsessed about cars? I think my dad would love and I mean LOVE Gabriel, and not only because their love for cars but you know, that would be a huge PLUS. I have learned more about cars in these past two years that I have learned in my other 22 years. And this was my first car race. I was not in the car but I could say I'm the designated photographer. Willow Springs International Raceway, is a racetrack about an hour away from Los Angeles, and there have a couple of tracks. We were in the Street of Willow track with Extreme Speed racetrack day organizers. These day tracks range from $150 - $300 usually, for 1 or 2 days. They have about 4-5 groups from beginner to advance. Each group race from about 20 minutes for 4 to 5 times a day. You have to bring your number tag, or buy it there. Bring your helmet and make sure the rating of it is valid. There are a couple more things to take into account but if you want more information, make sure to check Gabriel's Instagram. I hope you liked me bringing you back to my childhood and to this track. Thank you so much for reading up to here! Enjoyed this? Pin it for later below! Follow me on Pinterest.
Plan Your Instagram Feed
If there is one thing that attracts followers, that is having an aesthetic looking profile. Are you like me and have been overwhelmed by all of the beautiful profiles all over Instagram? With no idea how to make your profile look good and have consistent content. You would love your photos but not know how to arrange them or what to post next. Being constant is the key to success on Instagram, so not posting for days can hurt your growth. PD. The blog posts contain affiliate links. These don’t cost you anything extra, but they allow us to continue running this site and providing free content for our readers. Full disclosure here. You don’t need to have a perfect feed but you still need to have a brand and be recognizable if you want to stand out. Also, you don’t need to post every day. If you post only twice a week, but at the same time and on the same days, your audience will remember you. Define your goals and niche The first thing when planning your feed is choosing a topic. Posting a little bit of everything will confuse your followers. You need to define the “why” behind your posts. Think about what you are offering on each of your posts. Examples of this are: create an engaged community, find new clients for your services, bringing your followers to your website, and increase your sales. Define your content plan Things to keep in mind when preparing your posts. Make sure that each post gives at least one of these information. - Inspire your followers and connects with them. - Promote your business and things you are selling. - Share a story that relates to your followers. - Educate, teach and talk about things you know that your followers might be interested in. Choose a Color Palette - Lightroom Presets If you have no idea of what your personal brand’s colors could be, just search for color palettes on Pinterest, and you will find a lot of inspiration. Clothes are the main thing when choosing a palette, this is something most people don’t realize but if you wear different colors on your photos, no filter will make it seem cohesive. I am not saying to only use one color but try to use colors that complement each other and that will do the trick itself. Not only clothes matter when choosing your palette, keep in mind your backgrounds and objects you choose to post about. And after you master that, editing is only to make your feed even more cohesive with saturation and details. After you decide your brand colors, you can choose a preset, or even create your own. They can make your photos look amazing if you have a good shot, to begin with. I created my packages, you can find them here. But if you just want to start trying out one. Sign up here to receive a FREE PRESET My presets work for both mobile and desktop but if you are serious about starting on social media I would recommend investing in the desktop version of Lightroom. Just keep in mind that a preset can look completely different on your photos, compared to the sample, if you don’t choose the right colors and palette. Shoot For a Week In a Day No matter which type of content you are producing, I suggest creating all of the content for the week (or even for the month if you want) on the same day. That includes planning and shooting everything. Once you spent a few hours creating a lot of content, you know that you are good to go, and you don’t need to spend more time on this task and you have time for all the other things that are required in your blog / social media channel. Create Both Graphics and Photos Graphics work for both Pinterest and stories, so making them will let you use one thing for both purposes. On Pinterest graphics will alert people to go check out your page because you have posted about the content your pin is showing about and on Stories, graphics will make people click on your profile or your web link to check the content. Photos can be used on graphics as well, but for me, photos are mostly to be used in a blog post or social media, and a good photo united with an amazing caption will make your profile the most interesting and useful it can be. Plan Your Feed For Instagram I use an app called UNUM, BUT I do not sign in on Instagram on this app because Instagram has been paying attention to everyone that signs in on apps. So I just add the last 6 photos I posted on my feed already and the next 6 I will be posing next. So I can re-arrange them to make it look more cohesive. For Pinterest, I love using Tailwind, this is an amazing website to schedule your posts, and the first 100 are free, you can sign up here. I would recommend paying the subscription if you have a site or blog to send readers from Pinterest to. On Tailwind you can create a smart schedule, where they study the best times for your niche and followers to post and make a schedule with that information. Usually, I post about 15 pins per day, between my own and the information I find important from other accounts. Keep in mind that Auto-Publishing works only with business accounts if you have a creator or personal account you will receive a notification when it’s time to post, and you’ll do it yourself. And that's it! One day a week of shooting, one day of creating captions, and setting up Tailwind will let you more time for creating more products and engaging with your audience to increase your followers Enjoyed this? Affiliate Marketing For Bloggers
Just this month I generated my biggest affiliate sale ever. I got $10 from someone paying over $120 on something I recommended. That is actually more that I make selling by presets or even my planner And it may not look like a ton of money, BUT, it does not get better than generating money from someone else shopping. Even more if it is from shopping something you actually like and recommend. This is just the start, the more people notice my blog and my blog posts, the more people click on the things I recommend and the more possibility I have of generating money from an affiliate sale. So today, I want to show you the basics of Affiliate Marketing and help you to generate more sales this year. Are you ready? Let’s get into it! PD. The blog posts contain affiliate links. These don’t cost you anything extra, but they allow us to continue running this site and providing free content for our readers. Full disclosure here. AFFILIATE MARKETING - WHAT IS IT? I am sure you have clicked in one of these in the past, it is used for everyone on social media and blogging. But before I started my blog, I had no idea how many pages had their own affiliate marketing and now that I’m on the inside, I see it being used all the time. After reading this you will see how many times other people that have profited from me buying something they recommended without knowing Affiliate Marketing is used for companies, to increase their changes of getting promoted. Brands usually use ads and paid collaborations with influencers but they also use Affiliate Marketing, where they will give influencers a custom link to share their product or service in exchange of a percentage of the sell back. Then whenever someone then clicks on that custom link and signs up for something or buys something, the person that recommended the company will receive a small commission! AFFILIATE MARKETING - WHY BECOME AN AFFILIATE? On social media and even in real life, we are always talking about products and tools we use day to day, BUT, wouldn’t it be awesome to get paid for talking about the companies that you are going to talk about anyway? Affiliate marketing is a great way to get paid for doing what you are already going to do. And it’s an easy step into the passive income world. AFFILIATE MARKETING - HOW TO POST YOUR AFFILIATE LINK When creating a blog post you will include the link. And you do it for each of your posts and each of the items and pages you will usually recommend and talk about. Of course, the more traffic you get to the post the better your chances are for generating affiliate sales. If you really want to start making affiliate sales, then you need more than 1 page on your blog that has the affiliate link. - One of the best ideas for blog posts using Affiliate Marketing is making one of the tools or objects the main idea for the blog posts ex: How to use Tailwind or My Favorite Camera on 2020 - Another idea is to send emails to your subscribers about it Your email subscribers already believe in you so when you send them an email recommending something, they are more likely to sign up for it compared to a first-time website visitor. If there is a sale going on, share it! If there is a company you usually shop from and they are having a sale, share it on your social media and people will get a discount while you get your % of the sale. HOW TO GET STARTED WITH AFFILIATE MARKETING Start by writing a list of the products and tools you would be talking about and then follow the next steps. 1. Apply directly to the company Many companies have their own affiliate marketing or they work with 'CJ Affiliate Marketing' which is an affiliate network. Simply Google the name of the company and “affiliate program” If they have a program, then it should appear. And if they don’t, then you might find some other websites that talk about what’s going on. But from there, just apply. You will most likely need to share your blog and maybe even your follower count to get started. 2. Work with an affiliate network Affiliate networks are great because they give you access to companies that already have affiliate programs. And all of your links, stats, and resources are all in one place and for that I like to use Reward Style I joined it mostly to use it for Stories on Instagram, which means I already had over 10k on there. But as I usderstand you don't need a lot of followers to get in, you only need someone to invite you. If you leave a comment with your email I will invite you to RewardStyle. Reward Style is where I actually joined my first affiliate program and where I made my first affiliate sale. It is super easy to create custom links and gadgets of more than one item like this one. Another Famous one is ShareASale, I just signed up on this one, so I might be making another blog post on it. As I have researched they include hundreds of companies and they break them down by category. So finding possible programs is supposed to be super easy. Some programs may ask your for a specific amount of views monthly or a specific number of followers so make sure you make yourself look as amazing as possible when applying so you get accepted. AFFILIATE MARKETING - HOW TO STAY LEGAL Whenever you get paid to promote something, you legally have to share that you are doing it. Keep on every page of your blog that contains an affiliate link have a disclaimer. It is the same with every email you send with an affiliate link, you need to let your subscribers know. On the page that you are including your affiliate link, you need to include a disclaimer before any link is included. And you should have a Terms and Conditions page that goes over more information about your affiliate links. This will cover you legally so no one can say that they bought something from you and didn’t realize that you would be paid if they purchased it. NOTE - NOTE - NOTE - YOU SHOULD KNOW It takes a while to make money with affiliate marketing. Your first pay out can be MONTHS after you post your first affiliate link. Most affiliate networks and programs have a minimum payout. So you have to reach a certain amount for the money to be released into your bank account. It can vary from $50 to $100. Keep in mind that you never know when your affiliate sales are going to take off. And money could start to consistently start trickling in any time. Continue to include your affiliate links.
